Summertime in Tacoma

I was able to get away from the Texas heat (of 100+ degree temperatures) and head to Tacoma for a few days to visit my sister-in-law.

Here are some pictures of the scenery - which are all about five minutes from Luci's house:

Here are Luci's animals (sadly, Pookie - the tabbie - had to be put to sleep due to liver disease):

Back to Seabrook

I'm heading back to Seabrook (southeast of Houston and land of all the pelican statutes!) tomorrow for a week of HazMat training.

My one concession to being near the water will be to leave early tomorrow, get down there early afternoon and spend the afternoon at Galveston Bay which is about 25 or so miles beyond Seabrook with Cher and her husband Scott (pictured below at the Ft. Worth Stockyards). They're going to be in Galveston for the week but tomorrow is probably the only time I'll get a chance to see them.

Happy Fourth of July!

Hard to believe the United States of America is a "young" 232 years old!

My neighbor across the way also hung his American flag again today (as he did for Memorial Day), so I enjoyed seeing that again.

When Life Throws You a Curve Ball

For those of you who know me at all, you know how much I value my freedom and aloneness. Well, it appears that by the end of the year (at the latest), the curtain will fall on my solo act.

Stay tuned for Act 2 :=)
